PORTRAIT SESSION TIPS

Simplicity is the key when it comes to planning a portrait.  Solid colors are best.  Avoid large or bold patterns and bright colors because they draw attention away from the face.  Save stronger colors for accent pieces like scarves and neckties.

Long sleeves are recommended.  They draw attention away from the arms and focus on the face. (Short sleeves are good for infants and children).

Darker clothing tends to minimize body size whereas light tones tend to emphasize body size.

Everyone should dress in the same tone of clothing- either light or dark and in the same style of clothing, not mixing casual with business or formal.

Necklines are important.  A scoop or v-neck is best if your neck is short and your face is full.  A high neck garment is more flattering if your neck is long and your face is slender.  Most important: dress in the clothing you feel the most comfortable and good wearing!  You are welcome to bring your own props and for infants and children, favorite toys are always helpful.  If you have any questions please call.  We look forward to your portrait session.
